problem with FRC 2015 LabVIEW dashboard

I have created a dashboard executable using the LabVIEW 2015 FRC Dashboard Project without modification and placed it in the FRC Dashboard folder per the setup tutorial. The program operates as expected, but it seems to retain display settings that I would like to change. For example, I once full-screened the Dashboard window and closed the program in that configuration. Now it always opens in full-screen mode. The resolution was inadvertently changed as well (via the Driver Station properties to be Windows 7 compatible), and now the Dashboard window is unusable---too low a resolution. This display information must be stored in some init or config file, but I can't find that file. The offending file is also NOT reset by "repairing" my FRC Driver Station installation. Can anyone help me reset the display properties of the LabVIEW 2015 FRC Dashboard window?

Thanks very much.

Re: problem with FRC 2015 LabVIEW dashboard

The Driver Station app ini file is located in Documents/FRC/FRC DS Data Storage.ini
You can edit it or you caan delete it and a new default file will be created by the Driver Station app the next time it is used.

Some of what you are experiencing may also be a result of how the Dashboard project front panel appeared the last time you saved and built the project.
Try opening the Dashboard project and sizing the front panel window just the way you want it to look, then save and build again to see if that helps.

Re: problem with FRC 2015 LabVIEW dashboard

Thanks for the advice. I had found Documents/FRC/FRC DS Data Storage.ini but that file does not seem to control this aspect of the dashboard display. I have also tried resetting my screen resolution when the dashboard is running and then closing the dashboard window. But, unfortunately, the dashboard window always reopens at the lower resolution. Just to be clear, my entire screen shifts to the lower resolution when the dashboard window opens. I know this seems odd, but this dashboard display information must be stored somewhere.

Thanks again.

Re: problem with FRC 2015 LabVIEW dashboard

The driver station remembers its location in the "FRC DS Data Storage.ini" file. The WindowTop and WindowLeft determine where the driver station window was when the application exited. MoveableWindow is a Boolean indicating whether the DS and Dashboard windows were joined together and filling the screen or were both moveable. The Dashboard has a separate ini file that stores camera settings.

The DS application and dashboard application do not set the monitor resolution. If that occurs, it is probably occurring when you log in as driver. If you can access the task bar or use Windows-L key or some similar shortcut, you can get to display settings. Those are saved by the OS, not by the driver station application.

Hope that helps.
