BOMB
Posted by Greg Mills at 05/09/2001 3:47 PM EST
Engineer on team #16, Bomb Squad, from Mountain Home High School and Baxter Healthcare. This is a copy of the invitation that is on the way to every team: Hello, My name is Morgan Sharp and I am from the Baxter Bomb Squad. This summer we are hosting the 4th annual Baxter Ozark Mountain Brawl and we would like your team to attend. It is July 27-28 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. It will be held at our high school gym. We are in the north central part of Arkansas, about 10 miles away from the Missouri border. First off, there is not an entry fee to attend the Brawl. The Brawl will consist of the following: Friday we will have All-Star events, beginning around 8:00, for example, fastest robot, strongest robot. We will end about 5:00. There will be a team party following at one of the local lakes. We will grill hamburgers, swim, and just have a good time. On Saturday, again starting around 8, we will have seeding rounds and then finals. The day will end around 5:00. For the Brawl to happen this year, we have to have at least 24 teams sign up. The deadline is June 15, but we would like you to keep us posted on what your team has decided, this would help our team out a lot. If we do not get the turn out we are needing there is a chance we will have to postpone the Brawl until summer 2002. If you have any questions please fill free to e-mail me at morgan@mtnhome.com Hope to see you in July, Morgan Sharp Baxter Bomb Squad Team 16 |

Engineer on team #221, MI Roboworks, from Michigan Technological University. In Reply to: BOMB Posted by Greg Mills on 05/09/2001 3:47 PM EST: We wouldn't miss it. Last year, Baxter Bomb Squad put on a first class event. We had a great time and it was a wonderful weekend. I was very happy to hear it was coming back this year and I urge teams to make the drive down, it's more than worth it. Plus it's always fun to see the good old fashion drag races for fastest robot, as well as the rest of the All Star events. See you in July. |

Can we bring our dogs?

Engineer on team #65, The Huskie Brigade, from Pontiac Northern High School and GM Powertrain. In Reply to: BOMB Posted by Greg Mills on 05/09/2001 3:47 PM EST: We aren't sure yet if we will have the funds to go, but we are hoping to be able to say yes. We would probably only bring the good-looking Powerdawg, even though the mutt beat the pedigree at IRI! Ken |
