Delta Drill Press Belt? Aftermarket Part?
Does anyone know of a belt that can work with an older Delta Drill Press? Model Number 11-990 TYPE 1.
http://www.ereplacementparts.com/vbelt-p-83036.html http://www.mikestools.com/1343782-Delta-Belt.aspx Belt is showing as Obsolete. The belt snapped last night in the middle of our FTC season. The belt has "K 32.5" printed onto it. Anyone else on these forums have this drill press? |

Think this might work?

Re: Delta Drill Press Belt? Aftermarket Part?
I saw that, but its a completely different design. The belt that snapped was a V shaped black belt, as were that one has teeth and clear. Im not sure if it would act the same way.
If I can find a belt similar to size, I can move the Drill Press Motor slightly to make up for the added length. EDIT: The Second link may be it. I will check again on the press at lunch. Thank you Last edited by MattRain : 17-11-2015 at 11:14. |

Re: Delta Drill Press Belt? Aftermarket Part?
you might also consider taking the broken belt to a place that sells lots of them, and see if they have a match in stock.
http://www.bbcarizona.com/ for example. You didn't say how wide it is, so I dont know if there might be other sources. The urethane belt should be a suitable replacement, if it's the same width and length. The material and "teeth" dont really matter much. |

Re: Delta Drill Press Belt? Aftermarket Part?
Do you have an old school hardware store, power equipment store, or NAPA near by? If so take the broken belt in and they'll match it up with a suitable belt. It has a nominal OD of 33" and a nominal width of 5/8". 32.5" is the diameter of the center of the working surface. You want a power transmission belt like used in lawn equipment, washing machines, ect but an automotive belt will work in a pinch and get you back in business today.
The belts with the "teeth" are fully compatible, in theory they last longer by running cooler and run quieter, at least if the teeth have random spacing. |

Re: Delta Drill Press Belt? Aftermarket Part?
You probably found a replacement by now, but this product might be useful for those who need a replacement. It's designed to reduce vibration on tools such as table saws, drill presses, and other power tools. (I use it on my table saw, and it works!) The best part is you get to make it as long as you need.

Re: Delta Drill Press Belt? Aftermarket Part?
Buy a link belt and just make it the correct size, if the original belt was a vee belt
