Go to Post FIRST is the best thing I could have ever done. It shows me where I think my limits are, and it destroys them right in front of my eyes. My experiences with FIRST have defined who I am, and I am beyond blessed to have had them. - Audrey Chu [more]

Measuring incline

I am wondering what sensors are you guys using to measure incline?

Our team is deciding this right now. We thought about using an accelerometer, but the trouble is: it may still have a reading when the robot is not inclined (i.e. when the robot is hit, or intentionally accelerated).

Also, has any team successfully used gyro for this purpose?

We really appreciate your advice! Thanks!

I think teams used gyros back in 2012 to read when a bridge was successfully balanced, but don't hold me to that.

Re: Measuring incline

you're trying to measure the angle of incline of the robot or the angle of an apparatus from the robot
