How to attach 2 Nano Tube 20" gearboxes (am-2557)?

The way that Andymark advertises these gearboxes attached is with 4 sticks of churro connected with a single bolt on each side. Are there any better ways to attach these 2 things together, because there is no way a single bolt and some churro won't bend or break under the force of the drive train this year. It would also be helpful if the chassis had an open front end for our shooter to rest in

You could weld on 2x1s.

Or use a tube and gusset system you would just have to make sure you were carefully drilling holes.
