So, is the team defence platform ramp 12" or 10"?

My team and I were discussing the length of the team defence platform ramp. The question was asked here , but I am still confused on the answer.

The answer said that the field component's technical drawings (CAD) were the ultimate arbiter of the field dimensions, but my question is: Why would they give us two different dimensions?, changing the angle of the ramp by two inches and a degree of slope is kind of a big deal. They site "ease of construction", nothing is easy about giving us conflicting sizes for critical field objects. Below are the conflicting images I am referring to, the first is from the game manual, the second is from the CAD drawings.

What is the length of the ramp? What is the angle of the ramp?

Re: So, is the team defence platform ramp 12" or 10"?

We found the answer is: they're the same. The team versions ramp is 1/2" thick, while the field version is 1/4. Draw both ramps with the top (left say) corner starting at 3" above the floor and the bottom right corner touching the floor, and you'll see the top surfaces are nearly collinear at about 13.5 degrees. The plywood just has a thicker leading edge.

Edit: On second read - I see you aren't talking about the team versions, but the difference between the field drawings and the manual. That difference seems pretty minor to me (the 11.75 gets pretty close to 12" once you include assembly gaps, but I'll let others chime in.

Drawings trump whatever the manual says.

Then the drawings and the manual should be the same dimensions...Am I crazy for expecting the game manual and the actual field dimensions to be the exact same?

Here is what I found so far:

1. Game manual ramp length = 12"
2. "Build it yourself" CAD drawing ramp length = 10.75"
3. Field Object CAD drawing ramp length = 11.75"
4. ???

It seems like it would have been much less confusing to just dimension all ramp depictions to be 11.75"....sigh

The manual explicitly says the official field drawings supersede whatever nominal dimensions are in the manual.

The team version drawings aren't intended to be exact. Being an exact duplicate of the competition field is sacrificed in favor of being able to be built easily by teams.
