Re: FRC Blog - Awards, More Awards, and Medallions
I am not sure how I feel about the "medallions" on one hand they are unique to this game beyond just the usual year stamped on them. On the other hand the medieval look of them makes them look cheap or not well made to me, just my opinion but I feel you could have embraced the medieval theme and still make a polished circle that doesn't read as not well made.

Re: FRC Blog - Awards, More Awards, and Medallions
Seeing the new medallions reminds me, have the new blue banners been revealed yet? I remember there was speculation during the branding changes the color might change to the new light blue. I think it's pretty safe to say the new logo will be on the banner. Though, now I'm curious to see if the theme will be incorporated into the most precious pieces of fabric held by this community.

I remarked on Twitter, but I hope in future years FIRST will consider a medal design that returns the triangle-circle-square element to the forefront. (My beef isn't so much with the Stronghold-specific design this year as the fact that this element has been downplayed so much in the new program logos. I can't think of anything that's more under-the-tent and subject to some liberties than the medals.) |
