OM5P-AP Power Connector

Folks:

I'm having problems with getting power reliably to the OM5P-AP radio.

I'm using the AndyMark am-2922 2.1 x 5.5mm DC Power Male Jack Connector with Screw Terminals. The barrel connector fits loosely into the radio. I can wiggle the barrel connector from side to side and see the radio power drop out momentarily when I do this.

I'm concerned about the reliability of this connection when the robot is bouncing around on the field.

Also, I looked at the radio suppliers website where they sell power supplies, but don't seem to publish any details on the required connector.

Anyone else have any views on this?

The power connector used on last year's wireless router works fine. Just hook it to the 12 Volt terminals on the VRM.

Re: OM5P-AP Power Connector

A connector for the radio came in the KOP, too.

Re: OM5P-AP Power Connector

If the one that came with the radio is missing, buy a whole new power supply and cut the wire near the brick end. There are much bigger issues to conquer than fussing around with flaky radio power.
