Labview and pneumatics
We have two problems;
We are trying to use one joystick button for firing the shooter motors and loading solenoid. We need to know how to create a time delay so the motors can reach speed before the solenoid pushes the ball to the shooter motors. Look at the attached image to see what we have tried. The delay function works, but the motor reacts to the delay and starts and stops repeatedly Problem 2: We want to use one joystick button, so when we press the button the solenoid/piston extends. When we press the button the second time, we want the piston to retract |

Re: Labview and pneumatics
Here is another way to do problem 1. Replace the extra motors with solenoid commands instead. This is handled in Periodic Tasks.vi rather than the Teleop.vi http://www.team358.org/files/program...tofTimedAction
For problem 2 you want to incorporate a button toggle: http://www.team358.org/files/program...onToggleAction Last edited by Mark McLeod : 30-01-2016 at 19:47. |

Re: Labview and pneumatics
Thank you Mark,
Found the button toggle example. but the button start of timed action link doesn't work, and if you scroll to the bottom of the page the last example is double solenoid Jack Gillespie Lead Mentor 5430 |

Re: Labview and pneumatics
Mark found the button timed link by clicking on a different link and scrolling down. Think the kids will have it worked out by tomorrow. Thanks

Re: Labview and pneumatics
Can we change the existing while loops wait time to fit our purpose and can we change the default motor that is given to what we have setup or do we not need to worry about that drive motor that is pre-set. Thank you for all of your help by the way.

Re: Labview and pneumatics
It's just an example so you should remove anything you aren't using.
The Wait times can all be changed, and extra steps can be added to the flat sequence structure by clicking on the end border and selecting Add Frame. Last edited by Mark McLeod : 31-01-2016 at 13:41. |

Re: Labview and pneumatics
The Programming team is stuck. They have tried using the periodic tasks Vi to control the motor and the solenoid. The solenoid works as expected but the motor is surging and cutting off in relation to the timed tasks. I am attaching a picture of the Periodic task vi.

Yes the motor is only in Periodic Vi

Re: Labview and pneumatics
Did you disable the safety config?

Re: Labview and pneumatics
The Safety neutralizes the PWM outputs if the motor setting isn't adjusted at least every 100ms.
See where the Safety is enabled in Begin.vi It needs to be either Disabled in Begin.vi (just change the input) or Disabled at the beginning of the sequence and re-enabled as the last step of the sequence. The same thing holds true for handling motors in Autonomous. Last edited by Mark McLeod : 03-02-2016 at 11:32. |
