Problem connecting to Smart Dashboard

We cannot seem to get connection to the Smart Dashboard. We have com's with the driver station and we are able to control the robot and such, but the smart dashboard is just not working.

We have tried the connection indicator, USB camera, and pushing a counter variable; yet none of this works. We have tried several programs and several resets and reconfigurations. We are able to connect to the WebDashboard

It's possible we aren't opening the right Smart Dashboard?

Thoughts?

Re: Problem connecting to Smart Dashboard

Did you set the team number in its preferences? I assume you followed this: https://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s...smartdashboard. For us I opened the C++ dashboard.

Also, there is a utility called "outline viewer". It lets you see if the program in the roboRio is sending any data. Its located at "C:\Users\<username>\wpilib\tools\OutlineViewer.ja r"
where <username> is whatever you you installed it under. For me on windows, just clicking on the jar file ran it. Enter the roboRio host name like roborio-TEAM-FRC.local in the host box and click "Start Client".
