LifeCam 3000 HD Camera with GRIP

Hello all, us at 4014 are working on using GRIP to track the tower retro-tape. We played around with the program and got it to work, but the auto-exposure on the LifeCam 3000 is causing problems when the light levels switch. Has anyone solved any similar problems with the auto-exposure with USB cameras on GRIP or am I overthinking this problem.

We are using Java by the way for the code

Thank you very much and any other tips for GRIP with a USB camera will be graciously accepted
