VEX 393 Motor Illegal?

This year we were using a vector 393 for a lift arm, Till... a mentor pointed out that the 393 is no longer on the legal motor list. As far as I recall up until this year the 393 was included in the KOP. Why the sudden change... Or did we just misread the motor rules?

Re: VEX 393 Motor Illegal?

They were legal in 2013 when they were donated in the kit of parts. I know for sure they weren't legal in 2015, I'd need to look to see if they were legal in 2014.

Basically they aren't servos and they weren't donated again this year so they didn't make the legal motor list.

Re: VEX 393 Motor Illegal?

If you are looking for a legal alternative the REV Smart Robot Servo would be a decent stand in. It's stall torque is about 20% less, but it can operate in continuous rotation mode (with the programmer), and is FRC legal.
