Question BATTERY TRAY HELP

My team got a battery tray and we were wondering if it was mandatory to use it. We found the diagram to put it together, but the way the tray is set up, interferes with our chassis.

Re: BATTERY TRAY HELP

No, there is no specific battery tray that you are required to use.

But you need to secure the battery well. How you do it, is up to you.

Re: BATTERY TRAY HELP

There are no rules on any required components except the roborio, power distribution board etc.
You are allowed to use any method to mount and hold your battery and any other components. However, I would recommend that you do make sure you have a secure method of holding your battery. If a referee sees a battery flying around in your robot, you may get automatically disabled due to a safety hazard.

Re: BATTERY TRAY HELP

FYI: The battery must be secured on all 6 sides. Per the rule, the battery must be secure in any arbitrary orientation of the robot (incase it falls over, etc.). Which means, secured on all 6 sides.
