2016 Dashboard Camera Image Front Panel

I'm building a custom dashboard (which I've done many times previously).

I'm using the current 2016 Dashboard template. However, I'm struggling to be able to resize the area of the camera image displayed on the front panel.

Even if I resize the area on the front window for the camera feed display and save the VI it always resizes itself back to it's original size whenever I run it.

No matter what I seem to do, the camera image on front panel always resizes itself to it's original size.

Anyone have a clue as to why this is, and were I can change it?
I'm totally at a loss here.

Thanks!!!

Re: 2016 Dashboard Camera Image Front Panel

Maybe you're resizing the wrong thing.
Try grabbing the bottom corner and resizing it smaller, maybe a quarter size.
That will expose a smaller transparent bounding box that you can make bigger.

Or do you mean the overall Dashboard window.
That's controlled in the Adjust Dashboard Window.vi
Actually, that's also where the individual panels within the window are sized, so that may be what you are looking for.

Try this.
- Open the Block Diagram and look at the bottom for the "DB Adjust" vi to double-click on.
- Open the DB Adjust block diagram and you can see the screen size specified center left, and you can change these to fill a bigger screen.
- look at the bottom for "Sizing Refnums". Right-click and choose properties, then change Autosizing to "Size to Fit"

That will fill the entire screen with Dashboard. Probably not what you are looking for, but it might point you in the right direction.

Re: 2016 Dashboard Camera Image Front Panel

No, I'm not trying to resize the whole dashboard, just the live camera feed section of it.

I've done the right click and exposing the bounding box. That's what I've done in years past without a problem. Apparently it doesn't work that way anymore.

I was looking at the DB Adjust, but I wasn't' finding what I wanted there.

I will take a look at Adjust Dashboard Window.vi and see it that's what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

Re: 2016 Dashboard Camera Image Front Panel

The Adjust VI calls Resize Panel anytime the panel is resized, and when the dock/undock button is clicked. It is also called once to get everything in synch.

I'm not certain if it did the initial resize in past years. If you know what monitor you will run on and want a static size, you can rip out the Adjust VI. If you are feeling ambitious, you can modify the Resize Panel to apply your new rules for controls and indicators. The current code tries to "letter box" the image display, meaning that the relationship between left and right stuff is not very simple. If you have a fixed image size, it would simplify quite a bit.
