Vend Motors- Legal?

So I recently gained a stock of over 400 vend motors, I will spare you the details of how and why but essentially you can understand I am looking for something to do with some of them. There a plenty of projects of course that can be done with such high torque motors, but I immediately thought of how awesome they would be for driving a lifting arm or something of the sort. I know FRC mainly allows automotive motors but anyone know if these are allowed? If not is there somewhere I can appeal to have them made legal?

If you are unfamiliar or just curious of what one of these looks like here is a photo:

Thanks in advance!

Re: Vend Motors- Legal?

We'll just start with:

If it is NOT on the approved motor list, it is illegal. (And automotive motors aren't the main motors, BTW--they're barely used, even though they're unlimited.) Automotive motors of the listed types are legal; other automotive motors probably aren't.

If you wanted to get motors made legal--for next season, at any rate--you'd email frcteams@firstinspires.org and make the suggestion.

R29. It's fairly expansive, but not to the motors you have, I'd think.

Re: Vend Motors- Legal?

Could you post more details about these motors? Perhaps a spec sheet and some higher resolution pictures? Legal or not, I'd be curious to learn more.

Read. The. Manual.

I'm sorry to be blunt, but it's brutally true. Read the whole thing. Have everyone on your team read it too. Then read it again.
