It's one thing for your team to not be well known. It's another to be known to everyone as "that team that constantly complains about people not recognizing them". That being said, you guys may very well be one of the top bots but you shouldn't need public approval to know that you are a good team. We have never been in the Top25 list with any of our bots but our team is still proud of our past accomplishments and will always strive to improve year after year.

I love the Iron Kodiaks. You guys have impressed me every time I've seen you. That said, as a newer team, do you really want your image to be of the team who complains about their perception in the FIRST community? Many people are first hearing of 5137 through your posts. Keep that in mind.

I know.I know... I get excited and part of what makes us go as a team..I have to tone it down a bit as we settle into this yearly rotation, we'll let our play speak for itself..next year.

Every year I actually tone it down another level. I'm getting too old for this I almost lost my vocal chords in SD after we beat #1in two games this year. In CV I was pretty subdued even at #1 ...amazingly. weird.

I am actually getting much better. At least I did not guarantee a win versus 254 or 1678 like last year against #1. That was not graciously professional..hangs head. Sorry 1538. (that did not work out in SD last year ..drats)

Just so you know we all love W.A.R Lords you are one of our favorite teams locally love your image . Awesome bots every season and your team members are great. So happy you won an engineering award. I loved your small 2014 bot...actually was a spirit inspiration for "Varsam" this year.

I really am here just to have fun. impart competitiveness and I am humbled by the amazing teams around us. They are amazing. My team itself is pretty subdued I'm the only real crazy one but it does help the team's confidence against all odds. They mostly just shake their heads.."um you probably shouldn't have done that." they haven't kicked me out yet

I committed to one more year.... so I see the original Freshman through their Senior year. Then will decide if I 'll re-up. My son is also a mentor he was the awesome drive coach in SD...a founding Senior our RAS campaign.
We'll bring it next year for sure. More lessons learned this year. Iterate up.

Its only cool if you have fun doing it otherwise its just boring work. I/we have fun.

Secret: I really am a 10 year old kid inside and "robot season" is like Xmas day for me.

Just out of curiosity, have you guys ever looked at average seeding of Regional Robots vs District Model Robots? Just eyeballing it, I am curious if the rankings tend to skew regional heavy at least until the District Championships. I know that personally I tend to watch Regionals instead of districts, so my votes would likely be skewed.

Also if the information is available, where did 1731 rank? They where the cream of the crop at the Southwest VA district this past weekend.
