Smile Razer Wildcat & Driver Station

Has anyone had the chance to test out the Razer Wildcat with the FIRST Driver Station software? I would like to know if it works, and if the extra buttons available are programmable. This would be very nice for extra Driver controls during the match.

Re: Razer Wildcat & Driver Station

Last year at champs our alliance partners ran into issues using a Razer controller. The driver software crashed (so I recall) and we were down a robot in our second quarter finals match. I would advise something a little more tried and true. Someone from team 263 would be able recant the experience better.

Re: Razer Wildcat & Driver Station

We were using the Razer Orbweaver in 2015. The thing with that was we needed the Razer software to be open so the keybindings would map to digital input signals and not default to a regular keyboard. This required that every time the computer was turned on, the software had to be opened up as well before a match.

At champs, our laptop froze and crashed unexpectedly so we had to restart it. When we restarted it we couldn't open up the razer software so the orbweaver defaulted back to a regular keyboard.

I believe that we couldn't open the software because we were connected to the FMS while the laptop was booting up. When I disconnected the laptop from the FMS at the end of the match, the Razer software opened up and the orbweaver worked again.

I would suggest sticking to a logitec or Xbox/Windows controller so you don't have to worry about the FMS somehow interfering with the Razer software.
