Thumbs up New Computer Help Show!

I along with other geeks in the area are in the middle of creating a very cool technology based computer help show. Although Details are sketchy, we are going to be answering your computer questions “on air”, doing product reviews and MUCH MUCH MORE (I don’t want to give it all away just yet!).
To make this show a success we need your help. We are currently looking for…

-Computers, we are looking for computers that are at least 300mhz. Especially laptops! (In nearly working condition)
- Set pieces, things that you would look cool on our set. Stuff like OLD OLD vintage computers, Computer Posters, Swag from Expos…
- Networking equipment (such as routers, hubs, CAT5 Cables)
- Computer parts, Video Cards, Drives, RAM…
- MONITORS, we need larger Monitors!
- VIDEO CAMS! We don’t care if they actually TAPE or not, as long as you can get a picture signal from the camera! Old or new more than welcome!
- Ideas, all ideas are welcome
- Audio Equipment, one thing we are really lacking
- Mini Collage dorm size Fridge (Don’t even ask….)

Also If you have a website or a tech related organization, if you want to send us a T-shirt or something we would be more than happy to wear it on the air.

If you have these items and are willing to give them up, please contact us via E-mail
TheTechGuys@geek-gear.com

Thank you

Your Guess right, although There is a local independant station WNDS and they will pick-up a PA show if its good. And when you get a couple hard-core geeks together, give them a couple DV cams and a Whole Set. You get a pretty good looking show.

Amber H. will become famous soon enough
Is a 486 old enough?

I know a former model who wouldn't mind being a clueless chloe for you to explain things to for the not so swift/out of the loop portion of your audience. She could read viewer mail in questions etc. and then you answer them. kinda like a flunkie announcer you could pick on. She's a really good sport and will probably be willing to go with whatever zany idea (skits etc,) you have; except stripping, (like those news anchor chicks in Russia) I don't think she'll do that. sometimes it helps to have a chick on the set though. Just a thought.
I'll ask her about it next time I see her and ask permission to send you one of her pictures. I think she'd be up for it. She loves FIRST. Is totally eccentric, generally open minded, and is not the least bit afraid to make a fool of herself in public. The girl just has no shame. I'll need a mailing address to send a picture though. No scanner at this address.

DJ, i beat you.

2 10 MB hard drives that take up 2 5" slots, each. i have no clue what kind of hookup they have, but i know it's not IDE or SCSI . and no, you can't have them, because my dad is saving them. it's kind of a big joke, cause we take them out and compare them to the tiny 128 MB compact flash card we have, and it's pretty funny.

lol.

/me goes through all his old stuff

specturm 24, transmitter and receiver, 1 mpbs
at least 8 computers in working condition, at least 1 more partially built, and probably enough stuff for another one
a drawful of various cables
3 CPUs sitting on my desk
at least one empty case sitting in my room
2 B&W laser printers (the both work)

that's about all i can think of at the moment.

oh, and i've had a LAN in my house since 1994 or so. started off as a coaxial dasiy chain, but now it's all ethernet cable.

one other thing i have that isn't exactly computer related is an old stereo receiver, that is more than 30 years old, still in perfect working condition except for the volume controls. i need to find four new potentiometers, but i'm lazy, and i haven't done it yet.
