Kennesaw District, Quick Info

With the Kennesaw District coming up next week, I decided to throw together a quick document with some addresses and maps for people who aren't familiar with the area.

It includes the nearby hardware stores and a list of restaurants that are within walking distance or a short drive away, which will be very helpful when trying to organize lunch for your team.

I also included the nearby restaurants overlaid with the nearby hotels. I'm not sure how many teams are getting a hotel for Kennesaw, but for the few teams that are, hopefully you guys find this useful!

One thing I will say for any team staying at the Residence Inn or the Fairfield Inn: There is a walking bridge (it doesn't show up on Google maps) that connects you to the university. The road is not complete, but it is suitable for walking across.

Another thing, teams staying at those 2 hotels (this applies to everyone actually): You are right next to an off-campus student housing complex. This competition is occurring during the university's spring break. If you are walking anywhere, especially at night for dinner...travel in groups of 4 or more, or even better: Have an adult with you! Even if you're going to the Zaxby's 200 feet away. While Kennesaw is a very safe campus and area, it is still a college town during spring break.

Additionally, to the adults/students that are driving cars/trucks/trailers: Be extra cautious when driving on Friday and Saturday night.

If teams need help finding something nearby, let me know, I'll be in 1771's pit (or the stands on the rare occasion that the robot isn't on fire or something ), ask for Matt.

Additionally, I am currently a senior at KSU, so if any current students have questions about the university, are thinking about applying, coming here next year, or want to ask specifically on the computer science program here, feel free to stop by and ask me anything, or just say hi.
