P/C vs P/S...

Hey, I'm only echoing what the Principal tells me...

Now I lived in Canton for a while. You USED to have two separate High Schools on that campus (Plymouth Salem and Plymouth Canton), which were FIERCELY independent! (Sort of like the current "Survivor" TV show... "Two tribes on one beach"... ) If that's changed and you merged, then yea, AFAIK you WOULD be the biggest school! If not though, does either one of your schools have over 2800 students?

BTW, If still separate, is 862 purely a Plymouth Canton team? Does Plymouth Salem now have, or are planning, their own team?

we have 3 schools, plymouth ( the new one), salem, and canton. all on the same campus. We can barely afford to fund one team, let alone 3. imagine 105,000 a year in corporate sponsorship, thats alot of money. I don't think we have any immediate plans to break off into seperate teams unless we ge hundreds of kids interested (we have 35 on the team this year) You would think more than 35 kids out of 5500 would be interested in something like this

*edit*
oh, and no one fights about the schools except the sports teams, and they are pretty crappy i have classes in all 3 even though im technically a salem student

Electronics and Calc in Salem
Physics in Plymouth
Combination Raquets, C++, and Advanced Sci Fi in Canton

Looking for new mentors again!

We'd again wish to inform and invite students coming to ANY of the Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti MI colleges or universities (UM, EMU, Cleary, WCC, etc.) that we'd LOVE to have you join our team as mentors and team mates for the 2004 FIRST season!

We had some absolutely WONDERFUL mentors from UM last year for our rookie year! (THANK YOU, Josh, Laura, Joe, Max, and Lindsay! I can't say enough good about them, and we sure couldn't have done it without you guys!)

Unfortunately, most of them can NOT come back this year due to their class loads, and their loss is already deeply felt.

FYI: Last year, we had a "stone soup" shop in the empty basement of a local sponsor, and it was rough. THIS year, not only do we have SEVERAL new teachers involved, we're now in the process of building an entire FIRST "lab/work room" in the school for us, with workbenches, air, three phase power, the whole nine yards... <YEA!>

We ALREADY have several VERY interesting NEW robot technology preseason projects underway, that we wish accomplish before kickoff. Not only should it be a GREAT and fascinating growth year for the team, it'll be an opportunity to work on some great robotic projects now!

But we're missing YOU, so please come join us!

Pioneer HS is located right across the street from the UM football stadium, a short walk from the UM's main campus, or literally minutes away from downtown by four major bus routes.

Please contact me directly ASAP if you ARE already in or coming to the area, or know of ANYONE from your current team that graduated and WILL be coming to the Ann Arbor MI area and may wish to be involved with our FIRST team.

Thanks!

- Keith
