Airport to Worlds

Hey CD, has anyone routinely taken the metro rail system to the convention center? Does anyone know how long that ride usually takes? Thanks, just trying to make some plans.

I've been away for years, but I recall that trains leave the Lambert Airport Station every 20 minutes, and the ride to Convention Center station is about 35 minutes. There are two stations at Lambert, because there are two terminals. Depends on the airline.

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.

I took it last year to the convention center, and yes, it was about 35 minutes.

You can use Google Maps to get train information. It will tell you when the next train is scheduled to leave and the transit time.

I did it in 2011... it was pretty easy and straightforward.

I did leave the train feeling a little nauseaus though, which was strange given that I'm not prone to motion-sickness in cars, planes, or the Greater Boston train system.

Re: Airport to Worlds

The train is an easy. inexpensive and pretty safe (considering it's chock full of FIRST people during the event) to get back and forth from the airport to the dome. I just found the airport kiosk to be annoying because it took forever for my card to work in it.

This. Well, and it's obnoxious to get your carry-on situated in the train...but it's still much cheaper than any alternative (rental car, taxi, Uber, etc).

Re: Airport to Worlds

Also just be aware that only Uber Black picks up from the airport. You could take the metro one stop and uber from there, but by then might as well stay on the train.

For FTC - you can hop off at Union Station. I plan to be doing that tomorrow

Sunday - longer wait between trains so leave extra time. It's good policy to leave extra time to get through the lines for that airport on Sunday as well.
