Exclamation 3d Studio Max 4 Modeling

Let's say I have some cones. Now, let's say I have them angled and arranged so that they form a starfish shape, but they are angled vertically about 60º or so. I'm modeling a Bumble Ball for TEXAS BEST, and I need to know if there is a way to have the cones move out, as I move them down, thus saving me at least an hour of time. Please help. Anything you can tell me would be great, even if it's just a reference.
