Weren't hovercrafts developed in the 60's?
Anyways...the WWII Boeing B-29 bomber that dropped the A-bomb on Hiroshima was named Enola Gay and the operative was called the Manhattan Engineer District, or more commonly... the Manhattan Project. The bomb was known as 'Little Boy' and it took 43 seconds to reach the ground after being released. It was aimed at the Aioi Bridge. Also, out of the 34 B-29's left, there is only 1 that is flyable. I happen to like WWII (well...not the war...but studying it, it's quite interesting...it's interesting to see how much of the equipment back then is still in use today (although much of the technology has been updated, of course)) |

A 'jiffy' is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second.
The average cough comes out of your mouth at 60MPH. Twinkies have a shelf life of about 25 years. Raindrops aren't actually tear-drop shaped. They are rounded at the top and flat on the bottom. When the Titanic sunk there was 7,500 lbs. of ham on it A broken clock is right at least twice a day. http://www.phillsinfo.com/ |

Lincoln/Kennedy Facts!
Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946. Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860. John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960. The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters. Both were particularly concerned with civil rights. Both wives lost their children while living in the White House. Both Presidents were shot on Friday. Both were shot in the head. Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy. Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln. Both were assassinated by Southerners. Both were succeeded by Southerners. Both successors were named Johnson. Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808. Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908. John Wilkes Booth, who assasinated Lincoln was born in 1839. Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy was born in 1939. Both assassins were known by their three names. Both names comprise fifteen letters. Booth ran from the theater and was caught in a warehouse. Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theater. Booth and Oswald were both assassinated before their trials. I left another set of facts out because of being inapropriate for the boards, if you really want to know IM me on aol or PM me... |

Hehe, yep, one more fact..
Some amazing coincidences, if only they were true. John Wilkes Booth was born on May 10, 1838, while Lee Harver Oswald was born on August 19, 1939. John Wilkes Booth was captured in a barn, not a warehouse. John Wilkes Booth was not so much assassinated as killed during his capture. One last thing. The names of the secretaries are not likely to be accurate. This 'fact' was used because it is hard to disprove. |
