Re: [FTC]: 2016 Game Animation address
Weird game this year.
Looks like it's all about rapid fire and re-capturing "particles" (wiffle balls). Critical factors: The particles have to touch the field to be eligible for re-scoring, which will be a huge headache for the refs. Plus the bot can't raise itself more than 29 inches before end game. The overwhelming advantage will go to teams that can rapid fire particles from the floor during teleop and reliably recapture them after they touch the field again. 10 particles per minute at 5 points per particle is 50 points per minute per particle. Times 3 to 5 particles (of any color) is 150 to 250 points per minute. Unless you get a really bad ref who de-scores you for, in their opinion, not allowing the particles to touch the field first. The alternative is fighting the other bots over the beacons, which is a recipe for disaster. |

Being gracious on a cycle time of 15 seconds, with 5 particles on the field, that's 100 points per minute. (Cycle time = Chasing after the particles, gathering all of them up, aiming, and shooting...) Last edited by MattRain : 09-12-2016 at 12:47 PM. |
