Take Flight!...In Portland?
So, we were sitting in Engineering class discussing the reveal trailer when we discovered something odd.
This Image was taken from the reveal trailer. ![]() Now you may notice the black dot that seems to mark a spot. We decided to check Google Maps and see what we could find. ![]() You may notice the similarity in the position of the Great Lakes here. Based on this conclusion we decided to look into Portland, Maine for some answers. The first thing we found out was that Portland housed the Portland company, one of the leading manufacturers of Steam locomotives in the 19th century. Our biggest find, however was this. I was researching things about Portland when I stumbled upon a blog post. http://strangemaine.blogspot.com/200...aine-1915.html It mentions an excerpt from a newspaper article from 1915. This article talks about a mysterious airship that people would report seeing in Portland. This airship looks like this. ![]() That airship looks oddly similar to this airship found in the video. ![]() It is important to note that this airship is not the one found in Portland, but was representative of airship sightings at the time. The oddest part about this. The newspaper article was written on March 2nd. The week one competitions also start on March 2nd. Bear in mind that this is all speculation and that it may all be a very large coincidence, I just found it interesting. |
