Does anyone know if the gear lift protrusion is allowed to go into the robot and grab

There have been some conflicting messages about game pieces into the robot.

Re: Does anyone know if the gear lift protrusion is allowed to go into the robot and

Keep in mind the gear lift will not "grab" the robot. The robot cannot grab the gear lift by rule since it is part of the field. I see nothing in the rules that would prevent the robot from having the gear lift protrusion from extending into robot frame perimeter even with incidental contact with the robot. Which I think is the answer to your question?
