Baseline in relation to airship
Where's the base line in relation to the airship? From the diagram it looks a little before, but I can't find how much. Will a team that places a gear on the lift closest to the wall cross the base line?

Re: Baseline in relation to airship
the gap between the baseline and the airship is small (I think about 1-2 inches). The specifically mention in the field tour videos that placing a gear on a lift does not necessarily mean you have crossed the baseline.
If you are touching the airship's face, you will be over the baseline, but a substantial segment of the lift is not behind the line. As with most rules about lines, it is in your best interest to make it abundantly clear that you have completed the action in question. |

Re: Baseline in relation to airship
I believe there is misleading information regarding the baseline position that needs to be clarified in Q&A. Official "field assembly" diagrams show the baseline to be 93.3 inches from the driver station wall, while the game manual states it is 94.4 inches out. Given the line is marked with 2 inch wide gaffer tape this probably means the game manual is referring to the middle of the baseline.
The field assembly diagrams show the base of the airship at 114.3 inches from the driver station wall, which is 21 inches farther away than the baseline. This places the baseline near the tips of the two barriers at the bottom of the airship tower, and about 9 inches in front of the tip of the spring peg. This means a robot putting a gear on the peg in the center position will cross the baseline. The game manual shows the line correctly in pictures on pages 15,16 and 18, but has the line in the wrong position on pages 13 and 40. Comments made on the field tour video about the lift are also wrong, and I believe the tape the hosts were looking at was simply tape holding the carpet pieces together, not the green tape supposed to mark the baseline. |

Re: Baseline in relation to airship
From looking at one of the other videos, it appears to me that the neutral zone line is incorrectly placed. They must have lined up the edge of the airship with the incorrect neutral zone line, thus misplacing the airship.
Until the clarification comes out, I think we should assume the field drawings are correct. |

Re: Baseline in relation to airship
Team update 1 addresses this. The drawing on page 18 of the manual v1 is correct. The baseline is bear the tips of the dividers on the airship and not directly adjacent to the base of the airship. Additionally the field tour video is wrong.
