2017 RobotRIO and Radio issue

I was able to download successfully to the RobotRIO and Radio.
The driver station works while the computer is connected via the USB cable to the RobotRIO. When I disconnect the USB cable the driver station looses its connection to the RobotRIO. I reboot with the Radio plugged into the RobotRIO and the driver station still does not work. Any help please.

Does your team number show up in the list of possible wireless connections on the PC (and have you connected to it)?
What status lights are showing on the radio (and what color are they)?
Are the green and yellow status lights on the roboRIO Ethernet port lit up?

I do not see the Radio wifi to connect to from the PC.
The Radio has two blue led's, one is blinking.

I imagine the solid blue LED is the power, and the blinking one is the Ethernet connecting to the roboRIO.
Then the wifi status light is probably not lit (it's the one at the end opposite the power LED), meaning the wifi didn't startup properly.

A couple of possible reasons:
- Incorrect power - should be 12v/2a connectors on the VRM
- Radio configured incorrectly. If it's worked before then it would be okay, this is just if someone played with it.

The power is correct, but still no wifi LED.
This is a new radio.

If you want to try reconfiguring the radio, the instructions are here:

And after you configure it the radio needs to be power cycled before the wifi will work. Make sure to give it a little bit of time (it takes longer than one would think to boot)after you turn the power on.

Re: 2017 RobotRIO and Radio issue

This was resolved.
Don't set your PC to automatically connect to every network...
And don't name your phone hotspot your team number...
And use the radio Ethernet connector closest to the power connector.
And wait for the radio to finish booting before interpreting the status lights.
