Updating Rio
so, when I went to go update the Roborio, it showed the same firmware as last years. So I'm wondering if its the same this year or different?
P.S I updated to the 2017 FRC update suite

Yes, there is a 2017 version of the RoboRIO image included in the 2017 update suite.
You might want to check where the imaging tool is installed (path found in this documentation) to see if it shows up there.
