Have to turn off/on wifi adapter to connect to roboRIO?

Hi everyone,

Recently, I have been experiencing trouble with getting the Driver Station on my laptop to recognize the roboRIO over the radio. Thankfully, I managed to find a temporary solution that seems to work consistently.
After a whole lot of troubleshooting and hair-pulling, I finally managed to get driver station to connect to the roboRIO by doing this:

- Going to adapter settings in the control panel
- Disabling the wi-fi card
- Waiting a few seconds
- Re-enabling the wi-fi card
- Connecting to the robot radio FIRST(!!!)

After going through these steps and connecting to the robot radio, the driver station can communicate with the robot. However, there's a big problem with this solution: If you connect to ANY wifi network before connecting to the robot, the driver station will NOT have any communication with the roboRIO. The robot radio must be the FIRST wifi connection that you connect to, or else it will not work. You must go through the steps again to get it working.

Does anyone have any idea about what's causing this to happen? I'm glad that I found a temporary solution to connecting to the robot, but it's pretty annoying to have to disable/enable the wifi card every time I want to use the driver station.

Do you have any wifi management utilities installed?
