Chairman's Award Submission Notifications

Earlier today, the student designated to submit our Chairman's Award submission (after much hunting around to find the appropriate place - https://my.firstinspires.org/stims/site.lasso) submitted the award's executive summary and essay.

Previous years, I would then get an email that said - "Congratulations, you have submitted your Chairman's Award." After waiting for a bit, I asked the student if she had indeed submitted the award - she hadn't, although she thought she had. So she went back and finally submitted the submission (I looked over her shoulder to confirm). I then, again, waited for the email - nothing came. So I went to the "new and improved" dashboard to see if there is any place that shows the status of the student submitted awards. I cannot find anything that tells me that the awards have been submitted. Previously, I, at least, had a nice green checkmark showing the status. If that exists in the new system, I haven't found it yet.

Has anyone received any kind of notification to a student submitted award? I'm concerned if I hadn't asked (since I hadn't gotten confirmation from FIRST), it might have slipped through the cracks - and this could happen to other teams.

As the student who submitted our team's essay, I got an email early this morning notifying me that it had been submitted and we were eligible for it at our two competitions.

You could have the student login again and check to see if the submission button is still enabled. If it is, the submission has not gone through.

Not sure you get one... just log back on and it should say "submitted"

I don't recall getting a WFA confirmation last year but possible that I'm wrong.

We got the Chairman's e-mail but not for the WFA - yet.

UPDATE: FIRST says our WFA essay is in the system though we've yet to receive an e-mail (ala Chairman's)

And if a team has already done that, but is asking specifically about an email? Seems like that's what she was asking...

Sure, it's one thing to see the confirmation on the screen in the system. But when's the last time you bought an airline ticket and didn't want an email receipt? When submitting something that is such a huge investment for teams, I'd love a backup confirmation for peace of mind.

For now, I'd suggest that teams screenshot their award submission dashboard and save it for recordkeeping purposes.

I got a confirmation email for our Chairman's Submission, but nothing for the Woodie Flowers award. I watched our students submit the Woodie Flowers, so I know that the essay was submitted.

In our email that we had successfully submitted Chairmans, it indicated that we would be eligible for the award at our interdistrict event as well as our two district events. I am almost 100% sure that we are only eligible for chairmans in our home district, so the email was a bit surprising.

I did get the email for Chairman's this morning. Hopefully, in the future, my dashboard will show the status of awards submitted! I miss my green check mark!

Hopefully, the changes to how Chairman's is submitted doesn't cause teams to fail to submit - that's why we like to submit several days in advance! I'm sure we aren't the only ones that expected the student could submit via the new dashboard, rather than STIMS.

Before, weren't the two mentors able to log into TIMS and see what's been submitted? I can not find that in the new and improved. I see the email from last night saying it was submitted, but it does seem like yet another area where the new system is lacking something of significant value.
