The seats aren't even bolted down either. Come to think of it, I don't think there were any seat belts as well. There was no food or beverage service, and the stewardesses only function was to stand there at the entry hatch and scowl at us as we boarded. At some point during the flight, one of our tenors got up to use the bathroom only to find it full of stewardesses in the middle of a card game. They scowled at him and told him to go away. So apparently there is no bathroom service as well.

The plane shook and rattled like it was about to fall apart the whole way. Scariest flight of my life.
For starters its Aeroflot. Second every airline but Russian ones (starting to change...if they have $$$$$) use either Boeing or Airbus aircraft. Delta is a good airline considering they have the most flights out of Palm Beach International (the airport I frequently use). But jetBlue flies out of there too along with Southwest, American, Continental, but their flight frequency is comparitively low in comparision. Actually, I want a Boeing 737-800 NG (next generation) or maybe a 717 for myself as a private jet....but that's another story.

My favorite airline is the one that gets me safely home without crashing and burning on the runway, losing my luggage and sending it to the other side of the world, have me waiting in line for days, rescheduling or cancelling my flight and then charging me money for having to get another flight and serves something to eat on the flight other than leftover pellets that a stewardesses' child's pet rabbit wouldn't eat.
Actually I don't think I like any of the airlines.
My least favorite is Delta.

I've flown every airline on that list except northwest. I've never had a major problem with any of the airlines. I've had a few delays, but nothing bad, etc. Never had any luggage lost, although I have had it come in early

Becasue of this, I evaluate flights by the amount of legroom. However, this even varies heavily among different flights on the same airline. Both the best and worst amounts of legroom I've had were on american flights.

So basically, whichever gets me there the cheapest, which changes all the time.

Commercial flight is overrated. Wouldn't it be easier just to drive to where you're going?

Ok, as you probably all know by know, Eddie isn't great with flying (commercial flight, that is. Tiny little airplanes that hold about 4 people and fighter jets are ok). I mean, I love roller coasters, but just the slightest bit of turbulence on a 737, and I'm clutching my large, puffy pillow completely flat against my chest. I also had a delay from Phoenix to Grand Junction in July of 15 hours. Sleaping in an airport, especially when you're by yourself isn't fun. And to top that off, on the way back to Phoenix 5 days later, it was major (and I mean major) turbulence on the Turboprop I was on. Keep in mind I had reinjured my knee and my trip was cut short 18 days, so I wasn't feeling to good then either. But that's another story. The point is, commercial flight is one of Eddie's only two fears in the universe.

Air Canada all the way.

Later this year I'll be on British Airways and Air France when I go to Europe...we'll see what they're like.

Actually I'm into the airplanes not the airline itself....the Concorde is such a beautiful plane. I praise British Airways in returning it to service. Delta is good, jetBlue and Midwest Express from what I've heard is better but America West, you don't know what those pilots have been drinking!

I sometimes get cunfused with the spellings when there is a transfer between the Russian cyrilic (which is probably also spelled wrong) and the alphabet we use with our english language. In Russian, Aeroflot looks like Aeroplot. It can get pretty wierd sometimes. Not unlike just about everything in Russia.

Yeah, I know....I had to cross check the slavic style of writing myself. The only reason is the pictures of a lot of the Russian Air Force's stragetic airlift transports are ones in Aeroflot livery (i.e. the first time the west sees the aircraft in the air)

For adventure value, you can't beat MIAT the Mongolian national airline. They mostly fly Russian airliners that are so old the Russians gave up on them. The English translation of the initials is Maybe It'll Arrive There.

You don't have to worry about having your seat in the "full upright and locked position" as it doesn't lock. Tray tables? what's a tray table? The unexpected look at the aircraft wiring as we went hurtling down the runway provided interest on an other wise boring flight. If the stewardess was unconcerned as she closed the panel that popped open, why should I be worried?

Of course this is in a culture that admired a man who started laughing when suddenly surrounded by armed men pointing their weapons at him at close range. He said in effect "Go ahead shoot! sure you'll kill me, but I'll take 8 or so of you with me when the bullets go through me and hit the guy on the other side" Bravado does seem to count for something there.

Then there are the flight delays due to fog, even though the fog layer is so low the control tower is in the clear. It seems they have this problem with animals straying on to the runway sometimes, so they don't take off unless the pilot can see the end of the runway. Hitting a sheep on takeoff can ruin your whole day.

I'm partial to Pam Am because my grandfater worked there and also he installed almost all of the domestic airlines first computer ticket booking systems (but he still can't type...its a long story) while he was at IBM. Anyway, there's a joke from the Vietnam War....sure maybe we'll get to fly today if we get this relict from the Mongolian Air Force airborne.....don't remember where I found that out.

I flew Air France to Paris when my team represented FIRST at the Paris Air Show. The food was good, there was pleanty of it and the flight crew was really nice as well. It was way better than any US carrier i have ever flown.

While Northwest has the best snacks of the airlines I've flown with (yeah for buttery pretzel bites and payday knock-offs), their little monopoly they run over at DTW and their otherwise crummy service and high prices make them less than desirable. Therefore, I'd have to go with Southwest on account of their service being decent, and they flight crews are usually entertaining people.

Well their overall business strategy isn't too hot either. That also includes other airlines now a days but NW also last time I checked has like two hubs where other airlines (major domestic carriers) have like at least 4! The removal of inflight drinks and peanuts (c'mon you have to have them, pretzels or what ever that airline's equivalent). Their decision to remove such services to reduce flight costs actually is turning away passengers!
