scouting
During the kick off one of the guys said scouting is gonna be hard this year. what did he mean?

one of the big reasons are that the autonomous modes may be different on robots, as if a bot has more than one modes for strategy.

That, and also a lot about function will be subjective. Take last year for example when we could just quantitatively say, 'this robot can do two goals'.

Also, being modular is probably going to become more popular...so maybe someones robot could 'technically' do everything...it may not be able to do it at the same time.

Another reason for difficulty of scouting is that there is the 10 seconds of human activity. Humans can do almost anything with one of these crates and they are infinately adaptable. They could do different things in every match, and if they did a different thing with their crates each game, your robot would have a new field to cope with during it"s automated period each match. This will be really difficult to plan for unless you have a report of what each of the teams in the opposing alliance did in all of their previous matches, and even then you wouldn"t know for sure.
