Financial Limit
There is a $100 limit for any single electronic component. The Victor 884 costs $115 each. So I was wondering if there is an issue concerning this price limit, because this basically means we can't buy an additional Victor 884 for the use on our robot since it exceeds the single component limit.

I'm not looking at the rules right now, but I recall the limit being higher than $100. (It was like $400 for mechanical parts - it is in the same area for electrical parts I think)

The Victor 884's are listed in the restricted hardware list. Thus, they do not fall under the restrictions of electrical parts not listed on the restricted parts list (ie, must be purchased from digikey or FAI, total cost less then 200, single cost less then 100).
They do count for the $3500 limit, though. This has been answered several times on the FIRST forum |
