Students or engineering desingn robot

Is First about Students the robot or the Professional who desingn the robot, cause i loook at a lot of these robots that pictures of the one that has being uploaed and many of them seem to be desinged by a profesional and little is done by the students. OR my bee i am worng and more school just have better equipment and knowledge of whast to do? When THEY SAY IT WASNT MEAN TO BE FAiR,

Some teams don't have access to the facilities for this kind of work, so the students can't make the robot, the have to have a machine shop do it for them. We are pretty lucky, we have enough power tools to build a pretty good robot, bandsaw, mill, lathe, etc.
