Practice Field for Sacramento and Silicon Valley Teams

Hi folks,

This was posted to the WRRF mailing list, but in case you aren't on there:

De Anza High School has a practice field available for any team to use. We have a full ramp (the top plastic is approximate), and the correct grey, red and blue carpets.

Any team is welcome, reservations not required. Beginning Tuesday the 11th, the field will be available every day until 8:30 PM. (school days 3:30 - 8:30 PM, Saturday Sunday Monday 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM).

Please BYOT (bring your own tubs).

Ken Leung is organizing a pre-ship competition on Saturday the 15th. More details to follow.

Please email with any questions: robotics2003@mrreed.com

The classroom phone is (510) 223-3811 x2559. My Cell phone is (415) 246-8718. Please do not call either phone before 3:30 on school days, but feel free to call any other time.

Directions follow (note that Krispy Kreme is on the way if you are coming from Marin )

From Marin:

Take the Richmond Bridge, and take the Castro Street Exit. Go through the first light, and veer left at the second light, following the Richmond Parkway / I-80 signs. Continue to 80, and take 80 N toward Sacramento. Take the next exit (Appian Way), and turn right at the top of the exit. Follow Appian Way to Valley View Rd., and veer left onto Valley View Rd. The school is on the right, at 5000 Valley View Rd.

From Points North:

Find your way to 80 S, and follow it into El Sobrante. Take the Appian Way Exit and turn left at the top of the exit. Follow Appian Way to Valley View Rd., and veer left onto Valley View Rd. The school is on the right, at 5000 Valley View Rd.

From Points South:

Find your way to 80 N, and follow it into El Sobrante (past Richmond). Take the San Pablo Dam Road (NOT San Pablo Ave!!!) Exit and turn right at the top of the exit. Follow San Pablo Dam Rd. to May Rd. and turn left. Follow May Rd. to Valley View Rd. and turn right. The school is on the right, at 5000 Valley View Rd. If you miss May Rd., you can continue on San Pablo Dam Rd to Valley View and turn left (If you do that, the school will be on your left).

The playing field is in the cafeteria building, which is the tall building at the back of the school (the only tall building that is not the gym).
