if you want to make some money, have an arcade loan you the latest ddr machine and find some way of transporting it to nationals. then charge about 25 cents more for the dances (make up an excuse for the price) then after a little while you've made profit then don't return it to the arcade and you have yourself a machine.

After awhile, when you get used to picking up the rhythm and pattern of the songs and the arrows, you don't even need to pay attention to the screen anymore. The only thing I watch for are the changes. Most songs have reasonably good flow and they're really, really easy to pick up and just run with. |

Also, DDR is awesome, but I couldn't imagine paying more than $100 for it. I convinced my parents to buy it as a way to exercise and a familiy activity- for $75 (including two pads) ...And I've been addicted since, but without a single $ from my wallet. |

In music you have a time signature and rhythm that is shown at the beginning and throughout a piece of music. by using constant counting and knowing when beats normally begin, you can calculate what the next note might be. many of the most popular songs have been compared mathematically and found to be almost alike from Bach to U2.

I haven't really ever played ddr but i went to the mall today with raul and the chaz. Some how they talked me into a song...i sucked pretty bad but am definitely willing to try it again. I even am trying to get my brother at rose hulman to loan me his dance pad and the game and am downloading the computer version as we speak. I shall give it a shot...

Heh....i would take DDR to nationals....but the problem is we're not GOING. Oh well.
Hey and some advice to anyone just starting out in DDR...dont be embarrassed to play, ask good players for tips, and most importantly, watch how they play. The computer DDR sims are also great tools for beginners, they're really good practice for arrow reading. |

Finally some people that understand the addiction known as DDR. There is no game quite like DDR and the atmosphere of getting alot of people who play it together.
on a sidenote: max unlimited, waka laka, and max 300 in the same 3 song set. most painful fun evar ![]() |

Amen to that, brother!
More advice to beginners: Don't stay in the middle, pivot whenever possible, and try to listen to the msuic and get a feel for the rhythm and beat. Last edited by MFlores05 : 17-04-2003 at 15:44. |
