We work in a fairly well equiped 30 by 30 room in our school's basement from when there used to be a shop class. We have it all to ourselves, so we hardly ever tidy the place, making it pretty difficult to find anything. We have all the machine tools we need there (not CNCs though) and a fridge and coffee machine and even our computers for animation etc. It's a really convenient arrangement and saves us a lot of time.

Our primary work site is the school Auto Shop. We "inherited" the machines from the old metal shop, so we have a Bridgeport mill, a lathe, drill press, band saw, a MIG welder and a few other things in addition to all the automotive tools that "belong" in the auto shop. Since the shop teacher is our main mechanical guy, basically half the place is full of our stuff.

Occasionally, we also go down to the Visteon office in Troy to use our field. We took over the back room and set up our field for about three months. All the late-night autonomous work was done there. We get some stuff done at the GM Tech Center, too, though we usually don't go there ourselves. We just send our steel prototypes and drawings down and say "can you make this in aluminum?" So, a lot of the machine work and welding is done there, but all the design, prototyping, and assembly is done at the school.

263 works in 4 of the tech rooms in our high school. most of the building is done in the wood shop, and designing done in our CNT room. general meetings and the clubhouse we keep our robots and everything else are in the electronics room, and most the autocad/cadkey is done in the aviation room

950 worked primarily in a room (approx. 25x15') with 3 other teams. We had access to a full machine shop (down the hall from said room). It wasn't all that cramped, but when all the teams needed a drill press or a band saw at once it got kind of annoying.

Team 234 works in our school's technology department. Sadly, the tech department is closing so it will sorta be like the Cyber Blue wing from that point on(which isn't that sad really, if you are on the robotics team ). We have all the basic machinery including a mill and a lathe. With the tech departments closing in our whole township, we could possibly be inheriting more machinery since we are the only people who will use it. Included in the tech department is a computer lab where we do our animation work and the electronics crew work in there too.

Team 222 works completely out of our school's wood and metal shops. we have available some really thrashed machinery including two lathes and a mill that date back about 50 years. thankfully we have convinced the school board to purchase new machinery for the shops including a mill, CNC mill, lathes, and a nice new band saw that will hopefully be all set up and running jsut in time for our summer design projects. I can't wait to work on the new machines!!!!

We're a Technical school too, so we have it all on site. Basicaly Machine Technology and Electro-Mechanical(my shop) we're the two shops we used to build the bot. A few other shops pitched in but it basicaly boils down to us.

We work in a little corner of the Visteon Ypsilanti plant. Our meeting room used to be a women's locker room. We have a CNC mill, grinder, lathe, and other stuff. It's pretty cool ..... we love the Treefort

this year and last year we built at the ATS building for Haworth. Do you want to know what ATS stands for? Across The Street. I have no clue how it got its name, just that the main haworth building and the building we've had most of our work done in before last year is literally across the street. I dont think many of our team knows this at all, whats funny is the fact that everyone just calls it the ATS building, and everyone thinks its some official term that stands for something...

However, we got booted out of that building cuz Haworth doesnt own it anymore, so we have no clue where were gonna build next year.

We work in a corner of good ole Building 3 on the U.S. Naval Base in Newport RI. Its roomy but all we have are a few computers and workspace, no machining equipment . Most of our machining is done by the Naval base's machine shop and by a parent who is a machinist. Getting on the base is somewhat of a hassle nowadays ever since 9/11. The only way someone can get in is if they are on the master entry list and a photo id, both which are checked no matter which gate you enter. Sometimes it takes a while because lists are lost or misplaced, but its not a big deal.

Team 814 works in the cafeteria of New Tech High. After every meeting we have to clean up and store everything in a closet that's like, 5'x8' or something...And the door moves in so it's even less room...

Yeah, we manage..

Our team works entirely out of Venice High school in sunny california. We spend our six weeks in an auto shop shared with 7 periods of AutoShop for students, an Adult School autoshop class, and a sewing adult school class. (Sewing! In an autoshop! can you believe that? ) Occasionally, they will let a few of us into the machine shop on campus. (It's closed to students, but there is an adult school class in it. It's beautifully equipped... All kinds of fun tools in there.) Welding is done in the Auto Shop parking lot. Not the most high tech, but it works!
