One of the coolest matches was in the Archimedes division during the elimination rounds. The match was between 433 and 157 i think. Both of these bots have arms. While 157 is protecting its stack of 4 in red, 433 uses its arm to knock it down but 157 blocks 433's arm with thier arm. It was the coolest thing i ever saw. And 157 blocked 433's arm for at least 20 seconds. Now thats skill. You can hear the clashing of the arms from the stands. No kidding

I think it was match 36 at midwest...we flipped beatty at around 4 seconds into the match(in auto mode) it was the most exciting moment all year for me because I was really afraid of them.

Our good matches were:
Cleveland 109 We and our alliance won in the last 5 seconds of play. The Killa Bees (33) were dominating the ramp and we just shoved em out of the way. Get it from soap NOW! Chicago 84 Yeah Baxter. With their knocking and our stacking, we rigged in 216 some qps (forgive me if i'm wrong, its in the lower 200s). Galileo 22 We were allied with High Voltage (231) from Pasadena, Texas (right around the area). Quite a bit of pushing and shoving going on. By not knocking down the opponent stack of 4, knocking over totes to our side and dominating the ramp, we got 246 qps. There was a lot of pushing and shoving going on, and it was the only pushing and shoving match we won in Houston. My Choice: ALL OF THEM But DEFINITELY Cleveland 109. |

i am extremely biased, and this is not the best match ever, but match 55 where we teamed up with WIldstang and made an 8 stack. We did screw up a little bit but the refs screwed up big time, by not cutting the power to the bot that was outside the field and eventually knocked our stack over. For the teams that were at the Florida regional and put up 8 stacks, in many cases had human players that were not back in time, or had only 1 robot attacking the stack, watch this match, it was war. And both waldo (from wildstang) and myself were both back with time to spare

You Need to Post the Following:
MikeT suggestion of the clashing arms! that was awsome. The final seconds of the 2nd final match in Arch. Both robots on the opposing alliance fall over trying to get on the ramp. Another ARCH. match when A robot named sparky I think righted its self like 4 times. 547 vs. 111- 547 does everything but flip over 111. I think they even drive over them at some point. 547 knocking over the whole ramp stack at St. Louis like 4 times. (including on top of us!) Anything of 111 or 16 crazy auto modes. |

yup that was us, team 384! WE were the ones that tried to push the chief off of the ramp in the quarters of the arch division. While we tried to push them off we feel on our backs and self-righted ourselves like 3 times i think, then our battery feel out. Then we lost! Noooooo

On the quarter finals(file name "gal_gf2m2.asf" at soap) at Galileo High Voltage(231) and Heatwave(312), heatwave knocks all bins and block the whole ramp on the red side and in the other side high voltage gets flipped by the killer bees(33) but high voltage(231) springs right back up then there is a lot of shoving then high voltage(231) hold both opponents for six seconds from getting on the ramp and at the end heatwave(312) holds the mounties(555) from getting on top of the ramp

Our most exciting match was match 118 Newton Field. We started match ranked 62 going against the number 2 seeded team, team Hot 67, a fellow stacker. We made two human stacks of 3, one on ground facing one way and top two turned 90 degrees to the bottom. to stop opp. from driving in and grabbing stack.
We gradually picked almost all the bins out of their zone with our robot. We had a stacker that could stack and carry up to 6, but didn't stack at all. Our driver was awesome in that he picked apart their points while they protected their 4 stack. We protected our two human stacks of three and our partners got on ramp. Had we stayed on ramp we would of had more, but we wanted to knock a stack which we missed, but still gave us enough for victory. At the end we finished with 236 QP and vaulted us up in standings from 62 to 33. What a great way to end our rounds. Unfortunately we were not selected as an alliance but we proved that we were a formidable foe. Thanks to all for a great year. |

The most emotional match from Great Lakes for me: Match Number 65
It was us and 174 against 1 and 33. Man it went down to the wire. Our vacuum plate didn't work thanks to the controls (some stuff happened, nothing was wrong with the plate its self) and the foam expanded and touched the ramp. Either than that, we would of won. (Yea, I was driving than, and i cleared out most of blue's boxes toward the end - that made the rush for the ramp. Listen to the announcer!) ![]() Notice how long it too for them to decide! ![]() Last edited by Matt Attallah : 04-05-2003 at 09:54. |

Being the driver of team #696 I believe the very last match in LA was the best.
But we have had lots of other good matches that we have flipped robots over. I also remember this one match that we were protecting our stack and both robots came to get the stack and one by one we flipped them it was real cool . |

I think the Semi final match one in chicago was one of the best matches.
111 74 vs. 65 16 Four great teams and a fun ending. |
