Do you want Jesse McGuire again next year?

I haven't every seen this many threads regarding the opening ceremonies in particular the playing of the US National Anthem in the six years I've been involved with FIRST.

I believe there at least three threads -
1- Amazing Trumpet Player at Championships
2- Video of National Anthem
3- Video of Opening Ceremonies

And in all of the threads talk about the "phenomenal" Jesse McGuire and his rendition of the National Anthem.

I don't know about the rest of you but the hair on the back of my neck stood up and I had goosebumps at the end.

I don't know if FIRST could bring him back again next year, but, if they could would you like that?

Absolutely! That was the most incredible bit of musicianship I have ever heard. I would love to see him play for the Championship next year.

as a trumpet player and part time band nerd (the other part i'm a robotics nerd...duh) i would love to see jesse play again. he was the kind of inspiriation that FIRST is going for. that a trumpet player CAN get national recognition...just like an engineer from a small city north of the capital of a midwest farming state can.

Bring him back

I also got goosebumps hearing him play. Because our team was already seated in our division area, we didn't get the true effect of the opening ceremonies and only saw/heard them via the large screens.

I was the one who voted no, it was an accident. As i went to click yes, my mouse jerked and clicked no. I apologize. I would love to see him back next year.

Good Luck to everyone at the invitationals

He. Was. AWESOME.

After I heard him play, I turned to one of the guys on my team (who played the trumpet at one point) and asked, "Can you play that high on a trumpet? I didn't think that was possible!" He stood there for a second and said, "Yeah. Wow. Neither did I!"

I would love to see Mr. McGuire back again!

I also would love to see him back next year, even though I won't be there probably. My first reaction was that it would be alright, cause it wasn't sung. Then he got into it, and my friend sitting next to me (a fellow band nerd) just looked at each other and said "Wow." And it truly was cool.

I think Jesse McGuire was amazing. I got the privilege of seeing him perform twice. At nats and at the Phoenix regional. I have to admit, the first time, at Phoenix, I got chills up and down my spine. He was amazing. Then when I saw him again at nats, it was similar feelings. I swear he went higher at the Phoenix regional, lol. Although, he went amazingly high at nats also. It would be great if FIRST could get him back again next year.
