Goal moving devices

Hey guys! I'm hoping that you guys would be willing to share your ideas as to why certain designs of goal moving devices. Like, we feel that it is all but wrong to push the goal. Also, we are straying away from the idea of an arm to keep it simple. Thx guys!

We originally thought the goal grabber was going to be easy.

Boy were we wrong. When you start getting into the details, and realize you need an arm that is very strong, very light, can extend a considerable difference, and grab and release a goal, things become quite a bit different.

What was once a minor task quickly became a major hurdle. In all honestly, our ball management scheme ended up being an easier concept to come up with.

Good luck!

Well the hardest part of the whole show, I think, is finding a way to use that small light retractable you-name-it arm to exert an upward force on a flange or a pipe! Doing so more or less rules out pneumatics, they aren't designed for side-load... has any team overcome this little problem? And are you willing to share?

Um...well.....yeah.....

I'm not sure out sub-team has really figured it totally out. I worry about the arms bending, but oh well.

The other hard part is something that will take that side load. Boy howdy!

Our team has found a way to easily exert that upward force, but whether or not we're using it or how it works is a secret. I guess you'll just have to come to the Robodawg's pit and find out what it is at competition.

Today I got to sandblast one of our grippers oh man is that fun. Anyway, our design is nice and simple and will work (or be modified so that it does )
