I know you are trying to get some of your tranny ideas out in the public and whatnot but is it really neccessary to upload near pointless pictures such as this just to get our attention or whatever you are trying to do....

Likewise.

I can draw a robot that can push boulders, climb stairs, and sing a breakaway pop hit.

What you really need to learn is how to be educated about your designs -- do the math, use real world parts, standards, and conventions. Make real engineering drawings, not pseudo-pretty, incomplete renderings of things that have no basis in reality.

aaaaaaarrrrrrggggg........... You figured out next years robot design. Of course maybee Mr. Robot is not a breakaway pop hit. And yet saddly enough I am not kidding. I have a creapy looking robot head sitting on top of my bookcase that looks lifeless.

Nice gears, but maybe some wireframes? Or some non-default texture maps? Take that luminosity down 20 points or so and it'll look better.

Haha - I thought the same thing when I saw this thread...

Tytus - If you want respect and all the other goodies that some people have - Don't put up useless threads and other stuff. Respect isn't something you are just given (not from me at least.) You gotta earn it man. Remember - Rome wasn't built in a day - nor is respect. Take some time off to step back and look at what you are saying/doing. Sure - I give you props to rendering the gears - but all you had to do was create a 1st set - than just mirror and rotate.

It's going to take a little wisdom, some wise words, and a lot of time for my self to embrace you with open arms. You have proved that you like to argue and other things. I realize people change - but it's going to take some time to allow me to start to respect you...

Disclaimer: Everything that I have said it in my own Opinion! Nothing is to be reflected on Chiefdelphi.com or any of the participants in Chiefdelphi.com.

Well, I wouldn't say respect for drawing ability.. but it certainly is an improvement. When we can actaully see what's happening (i.e. Drawing not marred by weird textures) we can judge your ideas or drawings better. Yes judge them. Not on some Suck----------Neat--------Rock scale.. but give our opinions, ideas, and equations.

You can't ask for respect, it's earned or pretended (i.e. 'Respecting' a boss just because they can fire you).

In conclusion, we don't hate you or your drawing abilities. When you post something, expect it to be judged, for good or for bad. Not everything you make will be perfect. Not everything you make will work in the real world. But then again.. some things will

I'm taking a risk that you all will bash me but you all should have the sense not to.

The "I" in FIRST stands for Inspiration. How inspiring is it to have your ideas, skills, and character bashed by hoped-to-be-friends on the Chief Delphi boards. You all need to ask yourself that.

You all need to make bold that "I" in FIRST. The point of FIRST, these boards and the whole community of FIRST is to be INSPIRED, not discouraged.

So what if you don't think his ideas are not good? Let him at least TRY! Don't even quote this and say you were just speaking "realistically" because quite frankly I don't care. You all have potentially ruined what could have been another enlightened Chief Delphi user who runs home to reload the browser window.

Tytus Gerrish deserves to be encouraged, not shot down. If he is going to be discouraged at all, let him get discouraged on his own.

I am baffled as to where the friendship and INSPIRATION has gone from these boards.

Tytus, I hope you stay. And the rest of you, I hope you are ashamed of yourselves.

Could you stop picking on us and look towards his posts? Inspiration is one thing but when given reasons something might not work or suggestions to help he reacted totally immature. Also, his typing and spelling mistakes are horrible. I'll respect him when he gets less immature and stops going on inane rants everytime we don't bow down to his thoughts. A physics lession wouldn't hurt him either. I'm sure if he asked for help people would help him, but its like dealing with a 3 year old. If they decide not to listen that's their problem. My joke may not have been the most mature way but he doesn't seem to care so I see no reason too either.

In a way you are correct. Some people just flat out bashed him. In other ways you are wrong. Many people are trying to help using constructive criticism. Its pretty sad when people take offense to constructive criticism. The whole purpose of constructive criticism is to help point out known flaws and help them.

Although, drawing too much attention to yourself is not a good thing especially when you have nothing to draw towards.

Tytus, most people are trying to help you. Accept what they are saying. Many of these people are very experienced and know what they are talking about. They can help you down the road. Isn't that one of the purposes of these boards? The next time you read a comment about your design, just remember, they are only trying to help and its nothing to be ashamed of.

Here we go. Now those are the kinds of posts I like to see.

And I'll tell you what, I couldn't draw any gear by hand or mouse much less shade it. Nice job.

Just for fun:
Here's a link to some drawings that I enjoy viewing.

It is not really that but the fact is that he is leading us all around in circles when we try and figure out what is it he drew. He has not given anyone a straight answer about his drawings. That can get rather annoying.
