Question Mounting Drill Motors Using Plastic Housing

A few have mentioned they have mounted the drill motors using the plastic housing. We are a second-year team and are considering this approach due to time constraints. Any suggestions on how get this assembly aligned with our drive shaft?

First of all, just place them in the drill motor housing. Then, cut off the handle of the drill motor and mount them so that they would be right side up for a drill. Then just secure them at the top and they should reasonably stay in place.

Question

The alignment I am having trouble with is between the transmission in the housing and the driveshaft of our drivetrain assembly. Any ideas on how to mount the housing to our drivetrain so that the shafts align? Anyone try using the flexible coupling?

We just drill and tap a 3/8 24 hole in the end of a 1/2 in piece of cold rolled steel. Then put the other end of the shaft in a 1/2 inch bearing with bearing block.
