Championship Lottery
I'm not so sure I understand the meaning of this

If my team registered this morning, and we're on the registered list, does that mean we're in for good? Or, if there are more teams in our tier (tier 3) than there are spots, do we get bounced if we are not drawn in the lottery? Or is the lottery just for teams that do not make it in in the initial registration?
Please clarify this for us. Thanks.
