Looking at the bid history it looks like someone is just playing around, but I could be wrong. Then again - who in their right mind would pay that much for a Segway now that they are $4500 on Amazon.com?

Segway Scam
There have been a number of scam sellers of Segways on ebay. They take your money and do not deliver. A number of Segway owners have been monitoring the sales on ebay, and when a scam seller is identified, they bid it up out of reach, so no innocent buyer gets taken. Usually $5000 would do it, as you can get a new one for less, but some of the folks seem to be trying to make a point, and bid it to the stratosphere.
I would be very, very cautious when trying to buy a Segway on ebay. If you can't go pick it up in person, or posibly use the escrow service, LOOK OUT! Some folks have been taken trying to get a good deal.
