BattleCry

Thanks to the WPI Crew and TYCO for sponsoring BattleCry. The change in the rules was of great significance. All season we have heard that teams want more interaction and this event allowed it.
After taking part, several teams suggested that more defense may not be what they really want. With just about a month to go before the FIRST Forum, we all have some time to say what we really want in 2002.
Thanks also to WPI for allowing my team to do their presentation, but my next post will concern that.

Kudos to BCII Staff

Myself, my wife, and two friends that we dragged along with us had a great time at BattleCry. It was nice to sit back and, for the most part, spectate (until Tom & Eric broke the Bobcat's wrist in the semi-final ).

Honestly, I thought that the rules changes would lead to a fiasco, but I was wrong. Aside from a couple of glitches, the tournament went smoothly. The officials came up to speed quickly and did a good job in situations where they were forced to make some tough calls. My hat is off to everyone that helped pull BCII together.

P.J.

Team's # 177 & 177.5 (1st and last place at BCII )

p.s. - Thanks to 177's co-champions, Buzz and Rhode Warrior. Special thanks to Ben from Buzz who sprinted all the way to the Space truck to get the master link that we didn't even end up using - sorry about that.
