# Balls that fit in goal
Has anyone made a goal (large or small) and determined how many small balls will fit in and still have room for the multiplier ball?
Also, how many small balls will fit in without a multiplier ball? Thanks |

My team did some calculating today and figured that out. Small goal (movable)= 9 balls w/ room for the multiplier Large goal (stationary)= 15 balls w/ room for the multiplier hope this helps ![]() |

And yes a test would be the best way to tell for sure how many, but being that my team doesnt have a goal constructed we figured a 3d model would be the next best thing |

Has any team actually constructed the goals yet?

Re: # Balls that fit in goal
just finished design phase so thats the one of the next two simultaneous phases that comes give it a week and most teams will be at that exact challenge (if they aren't already)

Re: # Balls that fit in goal
our estimates were based on the volume of the goals and the volume of the ball, with a 66% derating
we came up with 15 and 23 - leaving room to cap |

Re: # Balls that fit in goal
the small goal should be able to hold 9 or 10 balls and still be able to cap (I say 9 and still "safely" cap, Lavery says 10 - so when in doubt, I guess you'd go with the rocket scientist. Not gonna win many disagreements with a guy who actually fits the "rocket scientist" cliche)
![]() I don't remember the large goal exactly - but I think it will hold about 16 and be able to cap safely, probably + or - 2 balls depending on how they fall and position in the goal. Hope that helps. |

Re: # Balls that fit in goal
How many small (5 pt) balls are there per side anyway?

Tough question. I'm not certain, but relatively sure the answer would reside in your manual. |

Re: # Balls that fit in goal
There are 18 of the purple ones that get released per side, and don't forget the two yellow small balls (10 pts) if you can rescue them.

Re: # Balls that fit in goal
18 on each side, plus 3 for each team (6 on each side, 12 total), 4 bonus balls, total to 52.
