Go to Post Including the Kinect in the kit a parts is actually an evil plan. The programers are going to spend all their time playing with the Kinect. In competition the robot is just to sit there because it will not have a program. :ahh: - FrankJ [more]

Engineer available!

Ive been looking for a job since early december, and have decided to start looking outside my local area.

If anyone knows of an opening for a BSEE with extensive project leadership/management experience, send me a PM or email.

Re: Engineer available!

It seems that you have your PM and email through CD turned off.

By outside your local area do you mean anywhere?? I have several very good contacts here in Georgia. If you are interested in moving this far south let me know. I will talk to a few people and see what pans out.

I wish you luck.

There are many openings for various EE types throughout Northrop Grumman and we have facilities nationwide. Try here:

http://www.northropgrumman.com/caree...eers_main.html

and search to see what interests you. If you find anything then contact me and I can refer you. For some positions, I get a bonus for refering people. I found at least 8 positions just by searching "electrical". Most were in Bethpage, NY though there were some in other places.

Actually this applies to just about anybody on these forums. We can't have FIRST people unemployed for long periods of time, it looks bad.

Re: Engineer available!

www.al.com

Look there in the Jobs and then search the Huntsville Times. We have a NASA installation and an army arsenal base thing (Redstone Arsenal).

Plus, we have Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, Sanmina-SCI, Intergraph, Delphi, Toyota, and a plethora of other companies of that nature...

If you need more information PM me or something

Re: Engineer available!

The Boston suburbs are also a great place to find an engineering job; and I know some of the surrounding teams are always looking for help.

www.bostonworks.com is the big site for jobs in the area.

Also, where did you go to school? My college's career dept. stresses that they are there for us for life - not just until we graduate....and I know a few stories of past students who came back and found new jobs through the Career dept.

Also, don't forget, you've got tons of FIRST experience...look at the sponsor companies on the FIRST site and check out their job offerings...your experience and willingness to join their team shows that you really want to be a part of their company for the long haul.

Good luck!

Re: Engineer available!

wow! thanks for all the responses and the PMs. I realized yesterday that I still had my old work email addr at Xerox on here, so I changed it to my home email, but for some reason that locked up my CD account and I couldnt post till now.

Definately interested in Georgia! My wife and I had planned to relocate to a warmer place when my son graduates from HS this spring - so getting 'downsized' in december forced a transisition a little sooner than I wanted.

I will follow up on all your postings and PMs today. Thanks again, I really appreciate the encouragement.
