Exclamation Many many questions......important though

Has anyone heard from Best Buy regarding their grants?

What information must be painted on the crate?

What information must be painted on the robot?

If the goal were pulled quickly, will the 2x ball fall off?

How large is the pit area?

How much time do we have to repair our robot after each match?

If we qualify for the national but cannot afford to register now, do
we get the robot back?

What if we can get the funnding later, when will Fedex pick up our
robot for the national competition?

depends on how lightly the ball was put on and how quickly the goal is accelerated, but yes it is possible

Q: How big are the pits?

A: FIRST tries to set them up at 10' x 10' but there is no guarantee of pit size since it is very venue dependent. You should not plan on pits being that large as some venues may have only 8' x 8' spaces.

The only time you are guaranteed a minimum amount of time is in the eliminations, when you get a minimum of 4 minutes. However, you will generally get much more time then that. If you go to a regional with 40 teams, you can guess that you will play in approximately every 10th match, matches will probably be 5 minutes between the start of one and the start of the next. So, 50 minutes. However, sometimes you might play in the 5th or 6th next match and sometimes in the 15th.

if you decide to change the shipping on your robot because you won a regional, you can usually do that at the event. If you are going to the championship you cant take your robot back home after your last regional, or have it shipped back home, because that would allow you to modify it before the championship.

Most teams take their crate apart and take their robot home after their last event (regional or championship) but you can have it shipped home if you want to.
