Re: What is your team giving out this year?

Well.. Here is my idea, that i havn't presented yet. We have planty of screwup parts, scraps and other miscellaneous aluminum misfits lying around the shop. We should stamp our team number into them, put them on chains and give them away. OSHA would not approve of giving out long dangly thigns that go around the neck at robotics competitions. The other handout i prototyped is polished lacquered 1.5" diameter neodymium magnets with our team logo on them. Another idea is lightup pens.

At LA last year a couple of us sat on top of the crate in the pit. The head ref came over and said we had to get down because it didn't have an OSHA approved railing. So, the next day we brought some scrap wood and made a makeshift railing on top of the crate. It worked for about half the day and then he came over and recognized out efforts but said it still is not up to OSHA standards.

Re: What is your team giving out this year?

Personally I am thinking of doing a "Trade Raffle" , since we cant sell stuff, so instead I am going to be doing a raffle of various stuff probably some tools and gift cards and such. you get your tickets with your team trinkets ... the better/rare the trinket the more tickets you recieve

P.S. This is legal under FIRST rules now right?

Re: What is your team giving out this year?

That raffle is a cool idea. No idea if its legal or not....I'm assuming it would be though.

As of right now we're handing out buttons..... but I'm working on something else, have to bring it up with the rest of the team first. Hopefully you will all bask in its amazing glory and coolness (Ha, I wish, I'm not that creative). Again...still in planning stages. Its a surprise

Re: What is your team giving out this year?

I think this would be best answered by our teams Marketing group....but I know we are giving out many many buttons, and of course information on our new rotating beacon sensor.

We will be having a seminar at the Manchester regional to describe the design. (hardware and software) We will be giving away all design drawings, all code and all schematics and BOMs so that people can use it for themselves.

Don't worry if you are not coming to the Manchester NH regional....we will be placing the same design data on our website for all to download. (you will just miss the seminar given by the students who worked on it.....but we will probably be posting email addresses of people you can send questions to either way)

... tsk tsk, if you have to advertise, get it right. They are keychains, with a picture of our robot, and team stats and contact info on the back.

Team 236 handed out "Got Bot?" stickers, pens, stress balls and buttons out at UTC and we'll be handing all that out at nationals too along with sticky hands

Sigh, it seems that my team will not be handing out our fantastic maze pens this year. We were never able to get in contact with our "contact." It's a shame...
